Crispy, warm bread – that’s how we all like it best. And is there a better time to bake bread yourself than now, when on the one hand it’s not so easy to get fresh bread in the morning at the bakery and on the other hand an additional activity at home might come in handy? I started with this easy Twister bread recipe – just prepare the dough the day before, let it rise in the fridge overnight and voilà – crispy warm breakfast bread!
Ingredients (two breads):
500g half white flour
7g dry yeast
3 tsp salt
approx. 4dl water
Preparation:
Mix flour, yeast and salt. Form a mould, pour in water and mix the dough from the inside out. Work the mixture into a moist dough, do not knead it too much. Cover and leave to rise overnight in the refrigerator.
Preheat the oven to 200° and put some water in a small bowl in the oven. Cut the dough in half and form two strands of bread, twist them slightly. Bake in the middle of the oven for about 35 minutes.
Tip: if you don’t eat everything in the first two days, I advise you to slice the bread and freeze it. That way you can keep it for a long time and if you are hungry you can simply defrost it briefly (for instance in the microwave) and toast it.
