This lovely seasonal winter sweet treat brings back childhood flavors for sure! And with a little cheat – using storebought Strudel pastry – this Apple Strudel is done in no time. It’s also really easy to prepare and keep in the fridge until it’s nearly time for dessert – then just pop it in the oven and wait for the delicious smells to fill your kitchen…

Ingredients (1 Strudel, serves 4-5)
2 sheets of pastry
40g of butter, meted
300g Apples, any kind
80g ground hazelnuts
30g sugar
1-2 tablespoons of lemon juice
25g raisins (optional)
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
pinch of salt

Preparation:
For the filling, wash and prepare apples, cut them into small cubes. Mix in the ground hazelnuts, sugar, lemon juice, raisins, cinammon and salt.

Place one sheet of the strudel pastry on a kitchen towel. Brush it with the melted butter. Place the second pastry sheet on top and brush the edges with butter. Distribute the apple filling evenly on the pastry, leave a 2cm margin. Fold the edges over your filling. Then, use your towel to help roll the strudel pastry. Coat the finished apple strudel with the rest of the butter.

Whenever you are ready for dessert, pre-heat the oven to 200° (Celcius) and bake your pastry for 20 minutes. Take it out, cut into portions – and enjoy!
